A truly remarkable collection of stories that Sheridan presents in an informative and entertaining way. I highly recommend this “page turner” written by a courageous and heroic pilot!

The book is a sincere and well written true story about a Vietnam helicopter pilot who shares his personal experiences before, during, and after the war. Joe is a special person and I admire him. You must read this book. You’ll enjoy it.

I read the entire book in one sitting. Joe gives great insight into the bravery of our military. The pilots risked their life every time they left base.

Wonderfully written, Gave a real insight to what a young man sacrificed for his country. The sad truth is War was a burden undertaken by his generation with very little Thanks for all they did. Joe however pulled himself up and went on and had success not only for himself but all those he touched. Hard to escape what Viet Nam did to the psyche of all those who were BRAVEE enough to serve.
    Thank you Joe!

I read your book in every spare minute I could muster in an otherwise busy weekend and knocked it off in less than two days.
I found it riveting, engaging and all so familiar.
Every time I turned a page I was reminded of something familiar from my past. There was the Cortland Standard, 40 Prospect Terrace as well as other familiar locations around town. I also remembered the priest and nuns from St Mary’s. I remember the time Father locked the doors when he entered for mass. He was determined to keep parishioners from leaving before mass ended. I believe the fire department put an end to that. I also remember the college nearby and I even remember your family taking in college kids upstairs. Your Mom took in girls one year and swore never again. They were the biggest slobs on the face of the Earth. It was all boys after that. I picked up on Dr Cummings, The Crockers and a few other names I recognized from a hundred years ago.
Switching over to Nam I recognized almost every location mentioned in your storyline.
I even visualized each location on my mental map of Nam.
Stationed at Phu Cat I rarely ventured North of II Corp except to visit friends at Da Nang and I rarely ventured off the coast except to visit friends at Pleiku.
This morning I picked the book up and started it all over again, fearful that I may have missed some little tidbit the first time around.
What a book. Congratulations and welcome home my friend.

Last week I purchased this book and finished it within a few days. It is extremely well written; I couldn’t put it down. This is a MUST READ for anyone who served in Viet Nam, for anyone who knew someone that served in Viet Nam or anyone who wants to learn about the war and the conditions our brave men survived. The book also helps us understand PTSD and the consequences. The book is about a man’s life before, during and after Viet Man. One of many heroes who walk amongst us unknown. Thank you for writing it.
